Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 349

Inner Landscape.

Hi folks and welcome to episode 349 of my Virtual cassette library. Happy Sunday and I hope you’re having a great weekend. A massive hello to everyone at Switched on Whitby which is happening right now. As I’m back recording daily voice overs do please let me know if you want something mentioned in future episodes as I do realise that social media just doesn’t connect us in any positive ways lately. A shout out to Neil Mason of Moonbuilding weekly fame for the writeup of The Synth Co-Op Volume Two release where he threw me in as being one of the more established artists. Which goes to show you how extremely niche our little world is.There are cassettes and zines left for this release as far as I can tell. Speaking of cassettes I’m sending actual physical mix tapes to new subscribers or tip givers which I thought was a great idea but so far I have only managed to lose a subscriber.
Shout outs to WHI recordings for dropping a comment on episode 347 and to Wojciech Stecko and Traindeer for the follow.
Anyway on to the show and the first side will include Ben Eyes, Towering Vertical, Coda Nautica, Christian Fiesel and Europe in Flames.
Side B will flip itself like a polite pancake while you notice a detail in your surroundings.
Also shout outs to all the artists and labels featured in this episode.
First off is Cincinnati’s finest Ed Herbers with “Ruskaretki (feat. Chris Hobbs)” from the album Season Cycle: Autumn.
Enjoy…

These are not playlists. Each episode is structured as a pair of continuous sets: six tracks on each side, mixed and stitched so the joins sit almost inside the grain. The sequence is the form.
If you make music, run a label, or hold a private archive of material that has not yet found a place, send links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. Every submission is heard.
The episodes remain free for the first week. After that they move into the Mixcloud subscriber archive. Subscribers also receive Veil Frequencies, the ongoing series of three-hour transmissions—extended traversals rather than selections, moving through a curtain of sound that occasionally seems to register the listener in return.
Mind the flip.

A ruskaretki in autumn, then a weathering that takes its time.
Side A takes the trip already with the autumn kind, keeps Whitby wooden in the days of oak and hemp with the sail already set, blankets the sky with stratus from a cloud school already open, holds an inner landscape with the harmonics already intricate, enters a new phase where the second thought is already first, and softens the forgetting of how to breathe so the breath can remember itself. Side B carves the wooden spoon with the wood already patient, arrives the mantis with the maps already walked, keeps a tiempo propio beyond words, slumbers the glen already kind, repeats the town that is already stagnant, and weathers the triptych that is already open and taking its time.
Overall mood: Soft, and quietly patient — full of open schools, remembered breaths, and weatherings that prefer to take their time. Perfect for dusk listening, soft glens, or sitting still while the next spool still waits.
