A warm, emotionally rich journey blending folktronica, French charm, playful downtempo, and deep ambient reflection.
Side A moves from lovers’ carvings and apple-sweet whimsy into fragile unravelling and sunny British humour. Side B settles into forest loops, nostalgic balconies, aching screams, Eno’s calm, and ends with graceful pressure.
Overall mood: Intimate, nostalgic, and gently uplifting — full of soft emotion, playful moments, and quiet beauty. Perfect for relaxed evenings, reflective drives, or golden-hour listening.
I’ll introduce Side A now and Side B in the intermission. The shows are free for the first week and then go to my very few Mixcloud subscribers who get to enjoy the 1 095 other shows whenever they like.

Every 10th episode I do these special shows of music with that little extra that has stuck with me.
On this TVCL episode you’ll be aurally pleasured by an artist according to my Last.fm profile is my second most played artists right between Boards Of Canada and Air. It is the excentric Sébastien Tellier here with the track “Pomme” from his 2008 masterpiece “Sexuality”.
This is followed by Björk and the track “Unravel” from her 1997 album “Homogenic”. Released on One Little Indian Records.
Then, Lemon Jelly with “Nice Weather for Ducks” from the legendary 2002 album “Lost Horizons”. Released on XL Recordings
The penultimate track of the first side of the virtual cassette is by Funki Porcini and the final track from his 2002 classic Fast Asleep with an album cover that you’d think is AI created except that all the keys on the keyboards are in the right place and that it was created in 2002.
Finishing off the first half, Luke Sanger with a track I just love. That synth melody sends me afloat. It’s titled “Delusions of Chiral” and is from the 2023 album “Fool’s Fayre” which is out on the Frequency Domain label.
But first, Bibio with the beautiful guitar piece “Lovers’ Carvings” from the album anyone of you are wecome to gift me with a physical version of. The amazing 2009 “Ambivalence Avenue”. Out on Warp Records.

Welcome sonic travellers to the B side. Six tracks down and six to go.
You’ll hear fruity flutes in the little ditty by Canadian artist Koushik and the track “Forest Loop” from the 2008 album “Out My Window”. Available on Stones Throw records.
This is followed by my favoutite foundation of two. Polly Hulse and Jez Butler better known as The Twelve Hour Foundation with the opening track from their latest adventure. This track is titled “Balconville” and is from the shiney new release “Expanded & Repurposed”.
After that the landmark electronic soul ballad “The Wilhelm Scream” by James Blake from his 2011 self titled debut album.
Then the penultimate track for today comes in the form of legendary ambient pioneer and producer Brian Eno with the track “Bottomliners” from the 2005 album “Another Day on Earth.
Finishing us off is the stand out track “Grace Under Pressure” an anthemic indie outing from Elbow from their 2003 album “Cast of Thousands”. Which is a reference to the ending of the song with thousands of Glastonbury goers making it onto the final album cut.
But first, Simon Green aka Bonobo with the wonderful flute piece titled “Intro” from the amazing 2006 release “Days To Come”. Out on the Ninja Tune label.
