Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 340

Another reel of the Virtual Cassette Library begins. Twelve tracks, two sides. A virtual cassette that turns itself at the halfway mark, the oxide catching just long enough to mark the seam before the second side continues.
These are not playlists. Each episode is structured as a pair of continuous DJ sets: six tracks on each side, mixed and stitched so the joins sit almost inside the grain. The sequence is the form.
If you make music, run a label, or hold a private archive of material that has not yet found a place, send links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. Every submission is heard.
The episodes remain free for the first week. After that they move into the Mixcloud subscriber archive. Subscribers also receive Veil Frequencies, the ongoing series of three-hour transmissions—extended traversals rather than selections, moving through a curtain of sound that occasionally seems to register the listener in return.
Mind the flip.
A thought that turns out to be you, then a fever on the moon.
Side A smiles the vocoder so the thought is already correct, circles a May date in the grain of Häpna’s cousin, remixes the sweet for a village already soft and home, leaves the unomia still naming itself in kind light, melts the broken date so it keeps glowing, and lets the black gold of the sun sing while the sun listens. Side B makes the life already under way with the colour decided, softens the industry of children and grants the right, covers in fog that lifts in its own time, numbers the product twenty-nine so the room is already full of it, lets the tired aunt rest while the rhythm still walks, and runs the lunar fever with the voyage already under way.
Overall mood: Warm, slightly nostalgic, and quietly decided — full of smiling vocoders, soft factories, and voyages already under way. Perfect for dusk listening, open calendars, or sitting still while the next spool still waits.

Side A
Mood mist: a thought that turns out to be you, a May date filed under datum, a sweet remixed for a quiet village, a unomia still naming itself, a broken date in galactic melt, black gold of the sun.

A humid, analog journey through Chicago weather, dub earth, and a looking-glass that still grows.
Side A drifts through Bitchin Bajas organ-tape zones, Album Leaf story frames, Laswell’s lowered Marley devotion, Young Gun silver-fox chrome, Eels in a small room of memory, and Quiet Village pool-light haze. Side B drops into Coki’s ruff lovin’ pressure, FSOL mango-tree humidity, Röyksopp’s Late Night bounce, Tellier’s tender river, a brief Kendall Miles afterglow, and ends at Jefferson Airplane’s white rabbit.
Overall mood: Warm, cinematic, and slightly psychedelic — full of analog silk, sub-bass weather, and neon that refuses to cool. Perfect for late drives, pool-side dusk, or sitting with the credits while the mushroom keeps growing.
This is episode 310 which makes it a best of show. Where I’ve chosen 12 favourites from over the years.
