Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 344

Another reel of the Virtual Cassette Library begins. Twelve tracks, two sides. A virtual cassette that turns itself at the halfway mark, the oxide catching just long enough to mark the seam before the second side continues.
These are not playlists. Each episode is structured as a pair of continuous sets: six tracks on each side, mixed and stitched so the joins sit almost inside the grain. The sequence is the form.
If you make music, run a label, or hold a private archive of material that has not yet found a place, send links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. Every submission is heard.
The episodes remain free for the first week. After that they move into the Mixcloud subscriber archive. Subscribers also receive Veil Frequencies, the ongoing series of three-hour transmissions—extended traversals rather than selections, moving through a curtain of sound that occasionally seems to register the listener in return.
Mind the flip.
A Finnish distance that began in a Bristol record shop, then the domain of the moment.
Side A walks the distance already handed over in Rough Trade with the humility already charming, lets the decaying metal frame become an elegant skeleton with good bones, channels the alchemist’s random water so the gold is already considering it, keeps the corridors of glass already listening, wears the desire paths by feet that preferred them while the sun sets in agreement, and dries the tears at the west gate so they can be filed under west. Side B lets the reign of dust live gently, cools the logic as it approaches its asymptote and keeps approaching, focuses stones through forty-year-old tape machines whose edges are already soft, opens the inner so the mystical is already at home, dissolves with the universal solvent until the remainder is interesting, and hands the domain to the moment while the night looks forward to it.
Overall mood: Alchemical, and quietly charming — full of soft edges, open gates, and moments already in charge. Perfect for dusk listening, transparent corridors, or sitting still while the next spool still waits.

Side A
Mood mist: a Finnish distance that began in a Bristol record shop, a metal frame that has become a skeleton, an alchemist who channels the random movements of water, corridors of glass, desire paths for a setting sun, dried tears at a west gate.
