Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 347

Hi folks and welcome to episode 347 of my Virtual cassette library. Sorry for the background disturbance, the neighbourhs are having roofwork done. Now I’ve been too busy for the past couple of days, not that anyone has noticed. What’s been happening? Well I went to see Bitchin Bajas on Wednesday which was a mind bender in the best sense. Krautrock lives! I’ve been also asked a bunch of life reflective questions by the wonderful Brian Roach who does a great Q&A series on Substack. Our musical compatability level is off the charts. So if you like this series I recommend you check his interviews out. Also this week Robin Rimbaud, Mr. Scanner is in my neck of the woods playing with Klang Systematiek. really looking forward to that.
It’s Bandcamp Friday as if your inbox hasen’t reminded you. Go grab everything on that wishlist. Especially the pre-release for the new compilation I’m hosting called Hidden Kingdoms, which is available for two quid and already has 13 artists with still plenty of time before the release at the end of the year.
I’m also sending actual mix tapes to new subscribers or tip givers which myself and Gareth Evans aka HDRF thought was a cool idea I’ve done two cassettes and so far have only managed to lose a subscriber.
Anyway on to the show and the first side which will include Portland Vows, an exclusive track by Richard Francés who is the curator of the amazing Hylé Tapes with a track from that Hidden Kingdoms compilation that everyone’s talking about. Also Department of Light, Aiko Takahashi together with Scattered Light, luxury elite and finally Shakali.
Side B will flip itself like a polite pancake so no effort needed.
Shout outs to the followers that have favourited the shows and to Graham Thorpe and MoiCflo for commenting.
First off is Brian Omen with “Litany for ARP 2600” Enjoy…
Welcome to the intermission or the flip side. You just heard the track “thank you for calling” by luxury elite. Remember If you make music, run a label, or hold a private archive of material that has not yet found a place, send links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. Every submission is considered. The next set will feature Green-House, Spectrical. An exclusive track Consumer Electronics from an upcoming compilation titled “Motifs 2” on the rather excellent WHI Recordings label due out on November 20. Also Hiroaki Yamamoto and finally Cells Interlinked. But first Shakali with the track “Minium”. Enjoy…
These are not playlists. Each episode is structured as a pair of continuous sets: six tracks on each side, mixed and stitched so the joins sit almost inside the grain. The sequence is the form.
If you make music, run a label, or hold a private archive of material that has not yet found a place, send links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. Every submission is heard.
The episodes remain free for the first week. After that they move into the Mixcloud subscriber archive. Subscribers also receive Veil Frequencies, the ongoing series of three-hour transmissions—extended traversals rather than selections, moving through a curtain of sound that occasionally seems to register the listener in return.
Mind the flip.

That was another episode of the Virtual Cassette Library. If the sequence stayed with you, share it, favourite the show, and follow the channel so the next reel finds you. Tips keep the reels turning. Better still, subscribe: the Mixcloud archive now holds more than eleven hundred past episodes, waiting whenever the next listening session calls. Travel safely between the frequencies. Cheerio.
