Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 267
www.mixcloud.com/djsofabed/tvcl-267/

Good day listeners, wherever you are. Trevor here.
Welcome to the Virtual Cassette Library. Episode 267. A 12 track virtual tape with a metaphysical flip at the half way mark.
If you make music, or are a label, and would like to be featured, send your file links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
Please leave a tip and subscribe to the Mixcloud channel every little helps.
A stylish, cinematic journey through hauntology, Italian library grooves, cosmic jazz, and dusty intrigue.
Side A offers ceremonial nostalgia, Arabian adventure, 1970s modernism, and space-age elegance. Side B shifts into psychedelic funk, flowing calm, low-orbit jazz, conspiratorial dust, fiery intensity, and extraction drama.
Overall mood: Retro-cinematic, groovy, and atmospheric — blending playful sophistication with subtle mystery. Perfect for golden-hour listening, stylish drives, or immersive evening sessions.
I’ll introduce Side A now and Side B in the intermission. The shows are free for the first week and then go to my very few Mixcloud subscribers who get to enjoy the 1 091 other shows whenever they like.
As a subscriber you also get access to my new series Veil Frequencies based on a fictional world I’ve created called The Resonant Veil Enclave. Each episode is around three hours and recorded from one of the floors of the 24 buildings in the veil. You can read about it on my Substack page. Mixcloud subscribers also get the ever expanding version of the upcoming compilation titled Quiet Figures.
If I mention the labels Four Flies Records, ATA Records, Batov Records, Buried Treasure or Sonor Music Editions you’ll instantly get the vibe for this episode. A cinematic journey through hauntology, Italian library grooves, cosmic jazz, and dusty intrigue.
On this TVCL episode you’ll be aurally pleasured by the hypnotic sequencing of Italian artist Giuliano Sorgini, in the track “Arabian Safari” from the 7” single titled “Savana Selvaggia” available through Four Flies Records.
Followed by friends of the show and one of my all time favourite outfits “The Twelve Hour Foundation” and the super recognisable retro moog sounds of their track “Roissy 1977” which is taken from the final Undulating Waters compilation, and Woodford Halses 100th release. Get it.
Then Sarnia, Ontario based “EKT” with a groovy synth outing in the piece “Pioneer Plaque” from a 32 track album called “Pura Vida” A fascinating release where almost all the tracks have super psychedelic videos. The album is also free to anyone who sends a screenshot or photo proof of them deleting Spotify and/or any social media app.
The penultimate track of the first side of the virtual cassette is by Eric Wetherell and the theme from the 1975 HTV series “Sky”. The shortest track of the episode at just 47 seconds. Suggestive and eerie. From the well sold out Album “Sky” on the Buried Treasure label.
Finishing off the first half, we go one year earlier with a track by Milan based Barigozzi Group and a bouncing library jazz track complete with cowbell from 1974 titled “Violet Lips” from the album Woman’s Colours where all the track names are a specific colour combined with a different part of the body.
But first, to set the vibe is the outstanding Jim Jupp aka Belbury Poly and the psychedelic organ infused track “Scarlet Ceremony” from his album “The Owl’s Map” which was originally released back in 2006 on the Ghost Box label.
Now settle in, turn it up a bit, and let’s see where it takes us. I hope you enjoy it.
One side flip, just the music.
Welcome sonic travellers to the B side. Six tracks down and six to go.
You’ll hear Lee Spreadbury better known as Gurulee and his wonderfully nostalgic prog-fusion jazz waltz infected track “Flo” from the EP “Into the Light” which is recorded at ATA Studios.
Followed by a group of artists that have probably sneaked their way into this episode in a few ways. Here is Leeds based, Outer Worlds Jazz Ensemble, with the downtempo, sexy, flute injected, library piece titled “Low Orbit” from the album “The Kármán Line” which is out on ATA Records.
After that Nitzan Dana also known as Islands On Tape with a downtempo, hypnotic, cinematic and rimshot heavy piece “Dust Conspiracy” from the EP of the same name. Dropping October 16th on Batov Records.
Then the penultimate track for today comes in the form of the psychedelic jazz-funk grooves of Italys Atabasca and the track “Hell Dorado”. Grab one of the last vinyls of the self titled album on Killer Grooves Records.
Finishing us off is the label that is also a band, Leeds based, “ATA Records” with a party lifter complete with handclaps and bongos in the track, “The Galata Extraction” from the must have album “The Library Archive Vol. 4”
But first, Miles Newbold who, I believe is the entire ensemble of The Natural Yogurt Band, with the busy, neo-library, psychedelic track titled “On The Other Side”. Get a vinyl copy of the album “Parasol” from Sonor Music Editions. Enjoy…
