Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 289

www.mixcloud.com/djsofabed/tvcl-289/

Good day, listeners… or should I say, travellers of the tape.
Trevor here. You’ve pressed play on another fragile spool of the Virtual Cassette Library. Twelve-track virtual cassettes that flips themselves at the halfway mark.

If you make music, or run a label, and fancy a place in the library, send your links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I read every one. Promise.
Tips and subscriptions keep the reels turning. Every little helps the library stay open after dark.
A warm, slightly hauntological ambient journey through memory pools, lost-and-found melodies, and parallel realities.
Side A gathers shared sonic connections, 1974 household radiophonics, midnight Frankfurt tones, recovered places, Lancashire ease, and ballad-inspired ambient forms. Side B drifts through emotional anchors, nostalgic Japanese colour, Quiet Figures still gathering, serpents in daylight, elemental wooded harmony, and ends walking the fictional lanes of Belbury.
Overall mood: Contemplative, nostalgic, and gently communal — full of recovered light, quiet personal colour, and soft village atmosphere. Perfect for deep listening, late evenings, or sitting with the ordinary as it quietly transforms.
The shows remain free for the first week, then slip quietly into the hands of my Mixcloud subscribers, who currently have over eleven hundred other episodes waiting for them whenever the mood strikes. Subscribers receive the expanding series of 3-hour adventures titled Veil Frequencies. They also get the ever-growing advance version of the forthcoming compilation Quiet Figures.

The tape unspools its visions.

Soeik – Memory Pool. Diverse artists gather under the SLIT ART banner, each contribution expanding the label’s reach through shared sonic connection.
00:08:07 The Twelve Hour FoundationInstamatic
The Twelve Hour Foundation – Instamatic. Household objects and treated recordings capture 1974 spirit. Radiophonic Workshop colours meet Tangerine Dream and early Kraftwerk nods in Bristol rooms.
00:12:04 HDRFFrankfurt After Midnight
HDRF – Frankfurt After Midnight. Compilation tones settle across the sixth Sound for the Soul gathering of listeners and makers.
00:17:30 DionisafLost and Found
Dionisaf – Lost and Found. Melodies rise from previously misplaced places.
00:20:01 BrapscallionShadaloo
Brapscallion – Shadaloo. Lancashire rhythms move in easy layered motion.
00:23:03 Green StaticThree Corbies
Green Static – Three Corbies. Traditional ballad imagery from The Long Harvest inspires new ambient forms, profits flowing toward ClientEarth protection of earth systems.

The cassette reaches its midpoint and turns.

00:32:12 SamathaDrift X
Samatha – Drift X. Spontaneous layering and looping search for anchors among shifting emotions.
00:33:01 Saitoh Tomohironostalgic vibes
Saitoh Tomohiro – nostalgic vibes. Japanese tones previously heard through U-Cover connections expand in quiet personal colour.
00:37:04 Visionary LinesTwo Parallel Realities
Visionary Lines – Two Parallel Realities. Rich Johnson’s projects move through the Quiet Figures still gathering.
00:41:56 Christian FieselSerpent In Broad Daylight
Christian Fiesel – Serpent In Broad Daylight. DeepMind12 and Memotron voices ride wild sketches and longer pieces inspired by The Illustrated Man.
00:57:43 Castle WatersElemental Harmony
Castle Waters – Elemental Harmony. Wooded walkways and ancient bridges inspire metaphysical relaxation. ETERNITEA awaits at 1:37 in the floating gazebo overlooking the lake.
01:01:16 Belbury PolyMusic, Movement & Meaning
Belbury Poly – Music, Movement & Meaning. Vintage analogue synths, hand percussion, melodica, psaltery and samples walk the fictional village. Disembodied laughter and Minimoog lead from Rattler’s Hey through Pan’s Garden.

The visions complete their circle.
The oxide continues its quiet journey until the end of the spool.

Also in the works: the next compilation, Quiet Figures, release date 26 September.
Uncover the narratives whispered by the silent, ever-present figures that shadow us, through compositions that unravel their hidden mysteries.
Does that stir anything?
Send entries to trevlad@gmail.com

Deadline: 24 September.

This has been The Virtual Cassette Library, episode 289.
Travel safely between the tracks.
I’ll meet you on the other side of the next spool.

Trevor’s Virtual Cassette Library 106

///jotting.hero.mystery.

Welcome to Trevor’s Virtual Cassette Library episode 106 Jotting Hero Mystery. Which is not only the soundtrack in the background but a geographical location according to What3words with its own video. Pre order the album on Bandcamp to support the channel, it gets released when it reaches the Mixcloud subscriber count which is currently 16. Of course if you do subscribe there’ll not only be an extra track but you’ll also get all my albums for the monthly subscription price of 3 dollars. These episodes are 90-minute musical journeys. This episode is a spectral drift through modular hauntology, Sardinian piano reveries, and aquatic synth rituals. woven together into two, uninterrupted, 45 minute virtual cassette sides, with a metaphysical flip halfway through. A lovingly warped mixtape for dusk listeners, headphone wanderers, and those who find comfort in the crackle of forgotten formats. The shows are designed for a walk, a mental wander, or a quiet moment alone with the universe.

I won’t be commenting between the tracks. You can join Nanogods’ poetic visualizations on the time line. Don’t be shy.

If you want to be part of future transmissions? Send your art to: trevlad@gmail.com Purchase paths are always illuminated at trevor.se and marked in each episode.

Now, Prepare for immersion. Secure those headphones. Let time dissolve, and let the frequencies claim you. 🚀✨
