Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 268
www.mixcloud.com/djsofabed/tvcl-268/

Good day listeners, wherever you are. Trevor here.
Welcome to the Virtual Cassette Library. Episode 268. A 12 track virtual tape with a metaphysical flip at the half way mark.
If you make music, or are a label, and would like to be featured, send your file links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
Please leave a tip and subscribe to the Mixcloud channel every little helps.
A reflective, slightly dark ambient journey through memory, menace, quantum subtlety, and quiet acceptance.
Side A moves from flaming intensity and small-room nostalgia into protective shielding, occult precision, and wave-function deviations. Side B drifts through mossy mind-fog, returning places, hauntological guidance, Moog meadows, and ends on accepted suffering and powerlessness.
Overall mood: Contemplative, melancholic, and atmospheric — blending intimate warmth with subtle darkness and philosophical calm. Ideal for deep listening, late-night reflection, or quiet immersion.
I’ll introduce Side A now and Side B in the intermission. The shows are free for the first week and then go to my very few Mixcloud subscribers who get to enjoy the 1 093 other shows whenever they like.
As a subscriber you also get access to my new series Veil Frequencies based on a fictional world I’ve created called The Resonant Veil Enclave. Each episode is around three hours and recorded from one of the floors of the 24 buildings in the veil. You can read about it on my Substack page. Mixcloud subscribers also get the ever expanding version of the upcoming compilation titled Quiet Figures.
On this TVCL episode you’ll be aurally pleasured by James Bernard with the title track from his album “In A Small Room, Decades Ago” a love letter to the magical 90s. Grab a CD copy from the Past Inside the Present label.
This is followed by the shortest piece of the episode by Glass Roots and the 44 second gem “Merchant of Menace” from the 2020 nyp album “The Idiot” out on Triplicate Records.
Then a super exclusive from fellow Irishman Peter Fitzpatrick aka Circuit3 and the beautiful retro synth piece “Shielding From The Past” from the album “Metanoia: Music From Therapy” which can be pre ordered from the artists Bandcamp page and will also be released on the Mortality Tables label on the 14th of August.
The penultimate track of the first side of the virtual cassette is by the amazing James McKeown aka Hawksmoor with another track from his latest medieval inspired outing “Yclept Thorn” this time with the chilled piece “Ockham”. Out on the Library Of The Occult label.
Finishing off the first half, Fraser Rowan aka Ty Lumnus and his mind altering modular track “Deviations in the Wave Function” from his latest release titled “Resonances in the Hidden Field” which you can get a cassette version of through the Astral Discs label.
But first, to set the vibe is Ramsgates finest, Nick Bonell aka Lone Bison with not only the opening tune from episode but the opener from his latest album “Longshore Drifting” out on channel champion label Castles in Space. This is “Down in Flames”.
Now settle in, turn it up a bit, and let’s see where it takes us. I hope you enjoy it.
One side flip, just the music.
Welcome sonic travellers to the B side. Six tracks down and six to go.
You’ll hear a gem from the 1978 album “Adonia” by Hervé Picart aka Ose and the synth dreamy track “Retour sur Adonia”. Get your CD or vinyl copy from the Bureau B label.
This is followed by another Belbury Poly track who I played in the previous episode. Here with “Your Way Today” from the wonderful album “The Owl’s Map.” Now available on Belbury Polys Bandcamp page.
After that Shropshire based Tom Kennedy aka Swansither and the pulsing “Moog Meadows” from another compilation you should have “Undulating Waters 10” the final release by the legendary Woodford Halse label.
Then the penultimate track for today comes in the form of recent friend of the channel and Hylé Tapes curator Richard Francés, here together with visual artists Faustine De Bock and Simon Girard aka Konpyuta here with the arp infused track “Accept Suffering” from the 2024 album “Music for Healing” which you can get on a pretty pink tape via the Planisphère label.
Finishing us off is the pumping beats of Ali O’May and Frazer Brown aka Dohnavùr and their banger “Powerless” from their recently released “We Owe Each Other Everything” album out on, yes, Castles In Space.
But first, friend of the show, Everyday Dust with some wonderful polyrhythmic noodlings in the track “(To Cut A Long Story Short) I Mossed My Mind” from his latest collection of archive finds titled “The Relic Room” which you can get on the Dustopian Frequencies label. Enjoy…

Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 203

Good day listeners, wherever you are. Trevor here.
Welcome to episode 203 of the Virtual Cassette Library – music from all over the world, sparked by a single track that sets the tone for the set. This is a 60 minute virtual tape with a metaphysical flip at the half way mark. If and when I get a couple more subscribers then I’ll go back to doing 90 minute versions, complete with commentary.
