Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 304

Listen Here

Good day, listeners… or should I say, travellers of the tape.
Trevor here. You’ve pressed play on another Virtual Cassette Library. Twelve-track virtual cassettes that flips themselves at the halfway mark.

If you make music, or run a label, and fancy a place in the library, send your links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I read every one. Promise.
Tips and subscriptions keep the reels turning. Every little helps the library stay open after dark.
A liquid, slightly haunted ambient journey through West Riding flocks, kudzu moonlight, and cities that refuse to end.
Side A watches the pinder keep the flock, then drifts under a kudzu moon, through solemn dreams beneath hushed currents, a Bethlehem journey, night-time puzzle sequences, and the slow pressure of mane nobiscum. Side B opens eternal cities, stirs a storm in a water-glass, presses a dystopian button, walks Verona’s water, swells with tide, and ends in soft cyber-space pulses.
Overall mood: Contemplative, damp, and quietly expansive — full of exclusive compilations, recorded liquids, and urban pull that keeps looping after the flip. Perfect for dusk listening, cassette-repeat evenings, or sitting with the water while the figures still gather.

The shows remain free for the first week, then slip quietly into the hands of my Mixcloud subscribers, who currently have over eleven hundred other episodes waiting for them whenever the mood strikes. Subscribers receive the expanding series of 3-hour adventures titled Veil Frequencies. They also get the ever-growing advance version of the forthcoming compilation Quiet Figures.

The tape unspools its visions.

00:01:18 WarmfieldThe Pinder Watches the Flock
An exclusive track from my own upcoming compilation album Quiet Figures which premiers on the 26 of September. So there’s still time to goet an entry in. At the moment this is the opening track. Just because it’s that good.
Paul Broome’s parageography of the West Riding. Electronics and words. Entries still welcome until the 24th.

00:05:59 Heron & CraneKudzu Moon
Yet another exclusive track and the opener from the upcoming self released album “Migrations”
Celtic harp meets 80s new-age synth. Dave Gibson and Travis Kokas. Charlottesville and Columbus. Hibernator Gigs, 2 October. Antony Ryan of Pawpaw masters.

00:08:28 On IdylSolemn dreams diffracting beneath hushed currents
The fantstic global collective of artists known as Passed Recordings have just dropped a whopping 47 track water themed compilation. I’ll probably play most of them on the channel as I’m a sucker for recorded liquids.
Solemn dreams diffract beneath hushed currents. John Overturf of Bellingham. Passed Oceans water compilation. Forty-seven tracks. Half of sales to Doctors Without Borders.

00:11:10 EBloThe Journey
Yet another exclusive from yet another great 13 track compilation. This time Imaginary Norths Transmission 012.

EBlo is from Malmö, Sweden.

00:13:53 Jupi/ter+puzzle
From the self released album “Nights”. Cheers Alex for sending this in.
Alex Glynn. Field recordings, effected guitars, analogue synths and evolving sequences. Chihei Hatakeyama masters.

00:17:07 Heavens Spin GrayMane Nobiscum
The last track of Side A and new artist for me. From the self released album “Imminence”. Cheers to the artist Shawn Garvey for sending me a code for this yesterday. Sustained tones and slow pressure of arrival.

After that the cassette reaches its midpoint and flips.

00:27:23 BUNKREternal Cities
Another exclusive by a good friend of the show and a contributer to my upcoming Quiet Figures compilation. From the EP “signs”. Dropping on VLSI Records on September 18. Hypnotic loops and urban pull.
00:35:16 Christian SchwöbelSturm im Wasserglas
Here’s another damp entry from that Passed Recordings compilation Passed Oceans.
Experimental ambient drone producer from Berlin, Germany.

00:39:20 Moonlit Workhouse/Persephonic SprawlThe Button
From a little retro dystopian gem of a self release titled Despair/Hope EP. Which sees light of day on September 18. The artist Greg Wye sent me a physical cassette of this a couple of weeks ago and it’s been on repeat pretty much since then. Ghost voices, desolate dub, then ambient space meditation. 18 September. Persephonic Audio.
00:43:15 Celestial EchoesVerona
More water you say? Of course. Here’s another Passed Oceans entry.
CelestialEchoes an ambient project by Morteza Jahangiri from Bielefeld, Germany

00:45:55 Jason ChaffeeTidal Swell
The fifth exclusive of the episode and another one from that Imaginary North Transmission 012 release. Atmospheric rock toward The Weight of the Sky.
00:48:44 John Louis KluckCyber Space
The final piece of episode 304 of Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library. Released on the Ambient Cat Label.
Soft pulses and distant echoes. Dionisaf designs the cover.

The visions complete their circle.
The oxide continues its quiet journey until the end of the spool.

Also in the works: the next compilation, Quiet Figures, release date 26 September.
Uncover the narratives whispered by the silent, ever-present figures that shadow us, through compositions that unravel their hidden mysteries.
Does that stir anything?

Good day, listeners… or should I say, travellers of the tape.
Trevor here. You’ve pressed play on another fragile spool of the Virtual Cassette Library.

A gentle, dream-facing ambient journey through insectile moonlight, library warmth, and far-shore destinations.
Side A weaves moonflower percussion and analogue arrival into placid Italian night, New Mexico autumn weather, infinite healing time, and a lullaby held behind rain-glass. Side B opens with a whistle toward emotion, then settles into open dusk sky, eleven minutes of analogue hope, close string resonance, a voyage to Beta Virginis, and memory finding water again.
Overall mood: Soft, hopeful, and quietly celestial — full of dusk light, small window-reflections, and patient unfolding. Perfect for twilight listening, falling asleep, or sitting with what still waits on the far shore.

00:01:17 PolyporesMoonflower
Polypores – Moonflower. Tenor recorder, guitars, piano, drums, kalimba and homemade percussion weave insectile textures. Loose slack layers build dense walls of melody dedicated to Violet.

The British Stereo Collective – Arrival. Benny and Björn’s melody becomes analogue library light among other covered transmissions.
00:07:44 Piero UmilianiPlacida Notte
Piero Umiliani – Placida Notte. Fantasy, the lost Telesound chapter, returns on the composer’s centenary. Analogue synthesizers, light orchestration and smooth rhythms share one playful science-and-nature dream.
00:10:49 Heron & CraneOver Autumn
Heron & Crane – Over Autumn. Clouds hover above New Mexico desert. Celtic harp, new-age synth, lap steel and Moog sequence travel from Charlottesville to Columbus in all-instrumental weather.
00:13:32 ALURIAInfinite Time
ALURIA – Infinite Time. Healing soundscapes make their FORM@ debut on SLIT ART, opening an original worldview.
00:20:49 Lab’s CloudLullaby for Dreamers
Lab’s Cloud – Lullaby for Dreamers. Rain, snow, wind and twilight move outside the glass. Interior warmth holds ethereal textures and small window-reflections.

The cassette reaches its midpoint and turns.

00:26:48 Henrik Meierkord & SusetiThe whistle
Henrik Meierkord & Suseti – The whistle. Strings and atmospheric new-age tones invite each listener toward their own emotion.
00:29:58 The Green KingdomOpen Sky
The Green Kingdom – Open Sky. Softly processed piano, reverb-soaked guitar and sampled textures settle into airy dusk. Vespera names the hour.
00:33:35 Circuit3The Hope
Circuit3 – The Hope. Peter Fitzpatrick and Vince Clarke build an eleven-minute melodic drone landscape. Analogue machines carry notebook fragments into spacious instrumental light.
00:43:38 Aki Yli-Salomäki & Kreeta-Julia HeikkiläViriää
Aki Yli-Salomäki & Kreeta-Julia Heikkilä – Viriää. Violin and viola meet subtle synthesizer undercurrents. Slowly unfolding structures of timbre and resonance keep acoustic closeness.
00:46:06 ThanecoDestination Beta Virginis
Thaneco – Destination Beta Virginis. Minimoog, Matriarch, Eurorack and mellotron voices soundtrack tau approaching zero. Bluish-green vegetation waits at the far shore of a new bang.
00:55:26 TeatreMemory
Teatre – Memory. Amulet of Tears gathers the piece as a dry life finding water again.

The visions complete their circle.

Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 203

Pastoral, folk-tinged hauntology with warm analogue tones and gentle countryside feel.

Good day listeners, wherever you are. Trevor here.
Welcome to episode 203 of the Virtual Cassette Library – music from all over the world, sparked by a single track that sets the tone for the set. This is a 60 minute virtual tape with a metaphysical flip at the half way mark. If and when I get a couple more subscribers then I’ll go back to doing 90 minute versions, complete with commentary.
This episode is a continuation of my library mood at the moment.
Warm, intimate, slightly surreal, and gently psychedelic. Think golden-hour light, quiet wonder, and analogue comfort — perfect for relaxed listening, daydreaming, or late afternoon/evening wind-down. Soft, charming, and emotionally tender with a strong sense of nostalgic beauty.

If you make music, or are a label, and would like to be featured, send your file links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
So settle in, turn it up a bit, and let’s see where it takes us. I hope you enjoy it.
