A reflective, slightly dark ambient journey through memory, menace, quantum subtlety, and quiet acceptance.
Side A moves from flaming intensity and small-room nostalgia into protective shielding, occult precision, and wave-function deviations. Side B drifts through mossy mind-fog, returning places, hauntological guidance, Moog meadows, and ends on accepted suffering and powerlessness.
Overall mood: Contemplative, melancholic, and atmospheric — blending intimate warmth with subtle darkness and philosophical calm. Ideal for deep listening, late-night reflection, or quiet immersion.

Finishing off the first half, Fraser Rowan aka Ty Lumnus and his mind altering modular track “Deviations in the Wave Function” from his latest release titled “Resonances in the Hidden Field” which you can get a cassette version of through the Astral Discs label.
But first, to set the vibe is Ramsgates finest, Nick Bonell aka Lone Bison with not only the opening tune from episode but the opener from his latest album “Longshore Drifting” out on channel champion label Castles in Space. This is “Down in Flames”.

After that Gordon Chapman-Fox an artist who is no stranger to the channel. A man with his noggin in the right place. “Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan” with the soaring track “Part of the Union” from the album “People & Industry Special Edition” with 4 bonus tracks from the 2021 original album, and you can grab that from the Castles In Space label.
This is followed by the Auckland, New Zealand artist Jim Marjoram and another piece from “The Silent Harvest Volume Two” FOLK POLICE RECORDINGS release the dark track is called “Lass of Lochroyan”.
Finishing off the first half is Berlin-based French musician arc rae and the stunning track “Mosaic” from the album “Bow and Arrow” and that’s out on long time channel supporter Las Vegas based Mystery Circles.

Then another artist I played on the previous episode, Bristol based HAWKSMOOR with a medieval inspired “Myrddin Wyltt” from the album “Yclept Thorn” which you can obtain via the Library Of The Occult label.
After that an album I’ve played a lot lately and one of my favourite of the year so far “Petite Constellations” by Seattle based Bluetech here with the superb track “Hyperborealis”. Then I’ve gone back to 2017 and a track from channel friend Belial Pelegrim titled “Followed by a Sinister Cloud” from the compilation release “Do You” from the, now defunct, Mangled Music Co., who were an affiliate of Triplicate Records.
Then the penultimate piece for today comes in the form of the 2014 track “Sun wind” by Protuberance from an album I’ve also played from in the previous episode “Recollections” go and grab a name your price version on the Bulgarian Mahorka label.

Good evening… or morning… or whatever smeared fragment of clock time you’ve drifted into tonight. This is EXPANSIVE WAVES 26. I’m Trevor — your host, your unreliable cartographer of the long haul, your occasional sonic conspirator.
This one’s not built for the impatient. Eight pieces. Each one stretching beyond twelve minutes. Together they uncoil for over three hours. If you came looking for hooks, drops, or anything that resembles forward motion, best to paddle elsewhere. Or just dim the lights, let the room breathe, and allow the ceiling to become a slow-moving planetarium. That works too.
Big thanks to Ivo Petrov at the Mahorka label for nudging me into a Plank Tone. I got gloriously lost and ended up delivering four. The first surfaced on April 8th. Tonight you’ll hear more of those strange, unhurried faces — independent corners, leftfield wanderers, music that refuses to be hurried.
We open with a twenty-four-minute soup. For anyone who’s ever been in a band, this is that glorious end-of-session moment when everyone’s a little fried and the music starts melting at the edges.

Fresh from a live set at Dubrek in Derby — the whole concert, audience whoops and all, because Drew decided not to chop it into polite pieces. Glorious nostalgic synths that feel like warm Sunday light through old lace curtains in the Peak District.

Birdsong threading through endless green layers, turning any room into a porch overlooking humid canopy at dusk. Tip for fellow travellers: when in doubt, add birds. They open windows that weren’t there before.

Blade Runner rain on a corrugated tin roof, random synth trumpet stabs cutting through toxic haze. Neon signs flickering in puddles that never quite dry.

Deep drone waters where subtle synth lines move like slow silver fish just beneath the surface — barely visible, yet impossible to ignore once you notice them.

Floating House Ensemble — Seven
Sax and strings delicately sprinkled over choral swells, like light catching on the edge of a slow-moving tide. As the Bandcamp page quietly reminds us: “I stood there, the whole day wrapped around me. I stood there, crying, smelling vine.”

“Hello, I’m Trevor, and this is episode one‑five‑nine of the Virtual Cassette Library. Today’s theme is Twist Fondest Waffle—which, as usual, is both the track you’re hearing underneath and a location you can find on a map, if you’re the sort who enjoys chasing coordinates on What3Words. We’ve got ninety minutes ahead—two sides, fifteen tracks each. Some names you’ll know, some you won’t, and that’s half the fun. We begin with Arbee & Norvik drifting through a Montréal alleyway, Bary Center disappearing into the trees, and Pocket Lint reminding us that we grow through our friends. There’s a rise‑in‑love from micca, diamond‑cracking teeth from pjpriiincess, and a new sun courtesy of GODTET. Now then, starting back on episode 156, there’s a little cipher game running through the series. Each episode, during the intermission, you’ll hear a number. Scribble it down. After ten episodes, you’ll have the full sequence. Put the pieces together, crack the cipher, and you’ll unlock a code that knocks ninety‑five percent off anything on my Bandcamp page. Trunk Stubbed Wiser is the episodes subtitle, as well as the track you’re hearing in the background and it’s geographical location which I’ve filmed and can be experienced on YouTube.
I’m Trevor and I curate these 90-minute genre bending drifts through frequencies from around the globe. No commentary. No interruptions. Just pure sonic immersion. Two, 45 minute mixes, 15 tracks per side with a side change in the middle.
Picture the listening experience like being at a music festival where the artists play on a rotating stage. Each act is allotted time for their piece and as it ends the next act takes over rotating into view.
Styles for this episode range from ambient to post-rock, from eurorack modular to folk. The musical keys in focus are F sharp major D flat major and D sharp minor, E flat minor.
This episode contains some household names like Hainbach, Loula Yorke and Matthew Halsall.
