“Hello, Trevor here, and this is episode one‑six‑three of the Virtual Cassette Library. Today’s theme is Vent Making Diverts—which, as usual, is both the track you’re hearing underneath and a location you can find on a map, if you’re the sort who enjoys chasing coordinates on What3Words.
We’ve got ninety minutes ahead—two sides, fifteen tracks each. Some names you’ll know, some you won’t, and that’s half the fun. On the A side there’s an unreleased track by myself which can only be heard here—so if you’re collecting the oddities and outliers, this one’s for you.
On the B side, we’ve got an exclusive from Mist Signals—Someday Soon—taken from the upcoming Whitelabrecs compilation Sleeplaboratory6.0, which drops on the 17th of January to celebrate the label’s tenth anniversary. A decade of quiet experiments, soft-focus soundscapes, and late-night headphone magic.
Now then, starting back on episode 156, there’s a little cipher game running through the series. Each episode, during the intermission, you’ll hear a number. Scribble it down. Welcome, sonic wanderers. You’ve arrived at Episode 142 of The Virtual Cassette Library.
Patch Adults Pebble is the episodes subtitle, as well as the track you’re hearing in the background and its geographical location which I’ve filmed and can be experienced on YouTube.
I’m Trevor and I curate these 90-minute genre bending drifts through frequencies from around the globe. No commentary. No interruptions. Just pure sonic immersion. Two, 45 minute mixes, 15 tracks per set with a side change half way.
Imagine the listening experience like being at a music festival where the artists play on a rotating stage. Each act is allotted time for their piece and as it ends the next act takes over rotating into view.
Styles for this episode range from electronic to poetic lounge, from indie rock to dungeon synth. The musical keys in focus are F and D minor.
This episode contains four exclusives, two of which are being released today. The first is from myself and a track from the album TVCL 7 which drops today. I release an album every 16 episodes with the complete versions of the background soundscapes from each episode. The second exclusive also being released today is from the wonderfully talented Andrew Wasylyk. On the A side we have Hendekagon – Die Zeitzeit accompanies Die Verschiebung der Zeit, a German-language book of 22 humorous and philosophical essays by Corina Retzlaff exploring the concept of time. The volume is enriched with abstract artwork by Francis Théberge and an exclusive soundtrack by Hendekagon that echoes and expands the themes of the text.
Released by Adventurous Music, a non-profit label based in Leipzig, this 108-page book is printed on recycled paper with climate-neutral methods. The included soundtrack adds a surreal sonic dimension to the reflective, often playful explorations of temporality.
This is more than a book or an album—it’s a multimedia meditation on how we perceive and experience time, through words, images, and sound.

The label that makes soundtracks for movies that do not exist.
On the B Side there is an exclusive from Julia Gjertsen & Gustav Davidsson – Into The Rain – from the album – Wandering Mind, Drifting Weather, a meditative ambient collaboration between Norwegian pianist Julia Gjertsen and Swedish trombonist Gustav Davidsson. Created through a slow, cross-border exchange of musical sketches, the album blends expressive piano and atmospheric trombone into a series of compositions that evoke the passing moods of nature—shifting light, soft breezes, and drifting weather fronts.
Rooted in classical training but embracing improvisation, the duo sculpt an intimate soundworld where melody and spontaneity coexist. Minimal electronics, Wurlitzer tones, and quiet pads enhance the organic interplay, while each piece captures the fleeting beauty of a moment. The result is a tranquil yet emotionally resonant suite that explores time, mood, and natural transformation—where weather becomes metaphor and sound becomes sanctuary. Coming out on Whitelabrecs on the 19 July.
