Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 264

www.mixcloud.com/djsofabed/tvcl-264/

Good day listeners, wherever you are. Trevor here.
Welcome to the Virtual Cassette Library. Episode 264. A 12 track virtual tape with a metaphysical flip at the half way mark.
If you make music, or are a label, and would like to be featured, send your file links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
Please leave a tip and subscribe to the Mixcloud channel every little helps.
A contemplative, atmospheric ambient journey through gravity, trapped moments, and fiery elements.
Side A drifts from weightless lapses and arcane nights into sinister awakenings, amber preservation, and circular comfort. Side B shifts through nostalgic postcards, patterned cosiness, collaborative warmth, and ends on flame and dated reflection.
Overall mood: Introspective, melancholic, and quietly wondrous with a blend of darkness and gentle warmth. Perfect for deep listening, late-night reflection, or peaceful immersion.
I’ll introduce Side A now and Side B in the intermission. The shows are free for the first week and then go to my very few Mixcloud subscribers who get to enjoy the 264 episodes as well as the 820 plus other shows whenever they like.
As a subscriber you also get access to my new series Veil Frequencies based on a fictional world I’ve created called The Resonant Veil Enclave. Each episode is around three hours and recorded from one of the floors from the 24 buildings in the veil. Mixcloud subscribers also get the ever expanding version of the upcoming compilation titled Quiet Figures.
On this episode you’ll be aurally pleasured by the trio of John Crombie, Christopher Innes, and Damiano Verna who together call themselves Arcane Trickster. I’ve chosen their latest single titled “Dead Of Night” which has just been released on Greek label Cosmicleaf Records.
This is followed by the track “Sinister Awakening” by Mantris from an album to get lost in titled “Echoes Of The Silver Screen” out on Bulgaria’s finest Mahorka label.
After that Edinburgh based modular artist Exit Chamber with the soothing piece “Trapped In The Amber Of This Moment” from the release “I Have Lied To You The Best I Can” which features remix work by some other channel friends including Asha Patera, Ed Herbers and Everyday Dust. Grab a digital copy on the Passed Recordings label.
The penultimate track of the first side of this virtual cassette is by French artist Anthony Elfort aka Toàn and the enchanting track “DEL 3” from the album titled “Solitarium” out on the fantastic whitelabrecs label.
Finishing off the first half is a track from the album Quieter by Robot Koch under his moniker Foam and Sand with a mix of analog synthesizers, live vibraphone, chimes, and bells in “Circle 62”. Get it at Jogging House curated label Seil Records.
But first, to set the vibe is Athens-based artist Kostas Staikos, better known as Substak with a deep and dark almost 15 minute piece titled “Gravity Lapse” which was made for Drone Day 2026 on grey clay radio.
Now settle in, turn it up a bit, and let’s see where it takes us. I hope you enjoy it.
One side flip, just the music.

Welcome to the B side. Six tracks down and six to go.
You’ll hear an artist I know nothing about except they are on the fantastic Passed Recordings 31 track compilation album 130.81. Here is Poloma with minimalist piece “Calico”.
Also an exclusive track in the collaboration of ambient giants David Cordero & Aiko Takahashi with the piano piece “Arzino” from their upcoming album “Night’s End” which will be available through the wonderful Home Normal label from the 24th of July.
After that a master of sunset music, Mark Barrott, with the track “Variation (I)” from the album “The Exit Diaries” and that’s out on the Anjunachill label.
Then the penultimate track for today comes in the form of the shortest piece of the show clocking in at just 1:31 seconds but showing the amazing sound of Hannah Peel in the track “All They Had Was Fire” from the film soundtrack album Underland, and that’s out on the Rivertones label.
Finishing us off is Hylé Tapes curator Richard Francés with some minimalistic drone bliss in the track “11 Février 2024” from the album Afterwork III (Février 2024).
But first hailing from Koblenz, Germany, Oberlin with his Fender Telecaster and field-recordings on the track “Postcard #7” from the album Ambient Postcards, Enjoy…

Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 151

6 December 2025

///lands.lonely.uniform

“Hello all. Episode one-five-one of the Virtual Cassette Library. Subtitled Lands Lonely Uniform. That’s the track you hear underneath, and it’s also a location you can find on a map. I filmed it—it’s up on YouTube if you’re curious.
I’m Trevor. Ninety minutes, two virtual sides, fifteen tracks each. In this episode you’ll hear awakened souls, The Green Kingdom, Slow Dancing Society, and Ogle. The Cromagnon Band brings echoes of Hadley’s Hope, while Jason Singh and Dreamlake Mists drift into experimental soundscapes. On the B side, Prefaces, David Boulter, and my own track Cult Foam Cardiac appear alongside autumna and Sababa 5 with Canay Doğan.
Labels like Neotantra, whitelabrecs, and Imaginary North are part of the orbit, carrying ambient, drone, and ethereal textures. Sounds move from shoegaze and dreampop to kosmische electronics and improvisational jazz. From London to Melbourne, Toronto to Beirut, these transmissions stretch across places and moods, shaping a library of resonance.
The eighth TVCL album is on Bandcamp for pre‑order—it drops when we hit sixteen tracks. Every comment, every like, every subscription keeps the frequencies flowing. So—headphones on, let time dissolve, and let the music claim you.”

Neptune Sky.

Welcome to Trevor’s Virtual Cassette Library episode 102 A 90-minute journey with a metaphysical flip at the halfway mark—perfect for a long walk, a mental wander, or a quiet moment alone with the universe. Today’s flight is partially sponsored by these generous labels: Astra Solaria Recordings, Castles In Space, ARCHIVES, Error Prone Records, Moniker Eggplant, Sonor Music Editions, Bricolage, rohs! records, Mystery Circles,

As well as these artists who have sent me material: Augen, The Green Kingdom, Phil Dodds from Allmanna Town.

Much love to my Co-Host the poet, the Psychonaut, Nanogod, for his visualisations of what’s going on during the episodes.

Special thanks to Free Album Codes—always fueling the episodes with Bandcamp gems. 🙏

Also shout outs to, aeon_music, and Ottervision, for the follows, likes and comments.

At least two of the tracks contain the Bucla Music Easel.

The A side contains “On The Waves Of Neptune” an exclusive from the album “Where Trees Go To Die” the latest offering from Stone Anthem, a hallucinatory journey through ambient textures, dense organic drones, and otherworldly frequencies. Layering field recordings, modular synthesis, and hushed vocals, the album was created in an attempt to maximise immersion and create a sonic field of bliss, a slow-evolving soundscape where perception bends and time dissolves. The album’s initial blueprint was created in a quiet hamlet in the Spanish mountains in 2023 with very little equipment. So the scenery of forests and mountains were a great influence on the album’s development. This is also from where all of the field recordings on the album were sourced.

Castles in Space is delighted to be working with this charismatic, vibrant and super-talented young artist. He’s just turned 18.

The B side contains an exclusive by colab who I know nothing about and I don’t believe are the Georgian Hard techno outfit. The track here, Troubled appears on the Bricolage labels 27 track compilation album X celebrating their 10th year of magical releases. It’s a ‘who’s who’ of the label past, present and future. Do check it out. Links to everything played are in the show notes and in the comments.

Otherwise Check out HDRFs musical journey on Invisible Waves – The Stories.

I won’t be commenting between the tracks. You can join nanogods poetic visualisations on the time line. Don’t be shy.

🌌 Welcome, sonic travellers—Trevor here, transmitting from Torrevieja, Spain. This is your gateway to another immersive expedition through sound—Trevor’s Virtual Cassette Library 078. A 90-minute journey with a metaphysical flip at the halfway mark—perfect for a long walk, a mental wander, or a quiet moment alone with the universe. Today’s flight is sponsored by the labels that keep our circuits humming: Clay Pipe Music, Adventurous Music, Downstream Records, whitelabrecs, Bathysphere Records, Altus Music, Blackford Hill, rohs! records, and, Ingrown Records.

And the sonic architect: HDRF.

Special thanks to Free Album Codes—always fueling the episodes with Bandcamp gems. 🙏

This episode includes 3 exclusive tracks that you’ll probably only hear here before they are officially released. On the A side we have Hendekagon – Die Zeitzeit accompanies Die Verschiebung der Zeit, a German-language book of 22 humorous and philosophical essays by Corina Retzlaff exploring the concept of time. The volume is enriched with abstract artwork by Francis Théberge and an exclusive soundtrack by Hendekagon that echoes and expands the themes of the text.
Released by Adventurous Music, a non-profit label based in Leipzig, this 108-page book is printed on recycled paper with climate-neutral methods. The included soundtrack adds a surreal sonic dimension to the reflective, often playful explorations of temporality.
This is more than a book or an album—it’s a multimedia meditation on how we perceive and experience time, through words, images, and sound.
Also on the A side. Supporter, subscriber and true friend of the show Gareth Evans also known as HDRF or Horror Dwarf sent me the track Memories of Dust which will appear on a desert themed compilation, out next month on the Aural Films label. The label that makes soundtracks for movies that do not exist.
On the B Side there is an exclusive from Julia Gjertsen & Gustav Davidsson – Into The Rain – from the album – Wandering Mind, Drifting Weather, a meditative ambient collaboration between Norwegian pianist Julia Gjertsen and Swedish trombonist Gustav Davidsson. Created through a slow, cross-border exchange of musical sketches, the album blends expressive piano and atmospheric trombone into a series of compositions that evoke the passing moods of nature—shifting light, soft breezes, and drifting weather fronts.
Rooted in classical training but embracing improvisation, the duo sculpt an intimate soundworld where melody and spontaneity coexist. Minimal electronics, Wurlitzer tones, and quiet pads enhance the organic interplay, while each piece captures the fleeting beauty of a moment. The result is a tranquil yet emotionally resonant suite that explores time, mood, and natural transformation—where weather becomes metaphor and sound becomes sanctuary. Coming out on Whitelabrecs on the 19 July.

Just a heads up. I’ve released my second album of 17 pieces from my latest 17 shows, the backgrounds from my voiceovers without all this babbling nonsense. If subscribing to support this channel is not your thing then maybe purchasing the album on Bandcamp suits you more. Or do both I’ve provided Bandcamp codes in a subscriber post titled “some-free-bandcamp-codes” on the Mixcloud channel.

I won’t be commenting between the tracks. You can do that on the time line. Don’t be shy.

EXPANSIVE WAVES 01

Here’s a not so original idea for a show, but us nerdy radio profiles get a lot of music through our channels. Quite a bit of it is long form which is not so suited for radio shows. It takes up too much time which means they get left unplayed. I know DJ Space Terrapin hosts Continental Drift but why should he have all the fun? Here’s my version. 8 tracks that have to be at least 12 minutes long. For how ever long that takes. In this episode that being over 2 and a half hours.

The image is a black and white digital artwork. In the center of the composition is a bird with a long beak and feathers. Text appears along the right side of the image.
