Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 305

Listen Here

Good day, listeners… or should I say, travellers of the tape.
Trevor here. You’ve pressed play on another Virtual Cassette Library. Twelve-track virtual cassettes that flips themselves at the halfway mark.

If you make music, or run a label, and fancy a place in the library, send your links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I read every one. Promise.
Tips and subscriptions keep the reels turning. Every little helps the library stay open after dark.

A cliffside, slightly occult ambient journey through spirit bridges, distant evenings, and questions that keep answering themselves.
Side A opens among Provo cliffdwellers and castle waters, then dreams through 808 notebook sequences, sits with Scottish-Swedish darkness, tunes the senses to E.S.P., and holds surface tension across Passed Oceans. Side B begins a mysterious Mechanicus chapter, places the world at your feet for Phantom’s centenary, spices the reel with French library flute and Leipzig afrobeat, flashes a fourteen-second miniature, and ends decaying underwater — however oceanic of you.
Overall mood: Contemplative, faintly eerie, and quietly playful — full of exclusive darkness, compilation water, and short surprises after the flip. Perfect for late listening, sitting with the unexplained, or letting the tape keep asking while the ocean answers.

The shows remain free for the first week, then slip quietly into the hands of my Mixcloud subscribers, who currently have over eleven hundred other episodes waiting for them whenever the mood strikes. Subscribers receive the expanding series of 3-hour adventures titled Veil Frequencies. They also get the ever-growing advance version of the forthcoming compilation Quiet Figures.

The tape unspools its visions.

I start with an apology to the artist EBlo who in the last episode I mixed up with an artist of the same name. EBlo is in fact based in Malmö, Sweden and not the US. Also a shout out to the wonderful aeon who not only is one of my only subscribers but also left a comment on a show a while back and asked me to do an episode of his amazing CAMP radio monthly series Fragments. Opening this episode with a piece from the new compilation album Gemstones VII out on Cyclical Dreams that Record label focused on Berlin School, Ambient, Soundscape, Space Music, Drone, and electronic music. Provo, Utah based spaceseerer who’s described themselves as doom-synth and dark ambient.
00:07:20 Klaus WolfeCastle Waters – Spirit Bridge
This is followed by another track from the same Cyclical Dreams compilation. Klaus Wolfe is the only artist that has released work on The Dream Journal Institute label that seems to actually exist anywhere else
00:12:20 Akira Film ScriptDream
from the album Holo which is released on Ethereal Projector which is a sub label of Ambient Cat which in turn is a sub label of Chitra Records or something like that.
Ryan Watts. 808, Bass Station II and 303 from 2018, a daughter’s number sequences in the notebook. Hiroshi Watanabe masters. Meaghan Watts covers.

00:17:11 Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken & Henrik MeierkordThe Evening Seems So Distant
The first exclusive track today comes from this Scottish Swedish collaboration. From the album Darkness Is Just Darkness which will be released on September 22 on the Audiobulb label.
Synths, drones and cello. Spoken passages sit inside the music. Darkness as a state to sit with.

00:22:39 The British Stereo CollectiveE.S.P.
The penultimate track of side A and an aboloute legend of the synth world. From the self released album TeleKinesis The trilogy that began with ExoGenesis and continued with ProtoSynthesis now concludes with TeleKinesis: a journey through the mind and the senses; through consciousness and altered states.
00:24:11 Trees Can TalkSurface Tension
The final track of side A and the longest piece on the episode at 7:51. From that must have new Passed Recording compilation Passed Oceans. Classical instruments, punk years, electronica as therapy. Half of sales to Doctors Without Borders.

After that the cassette reaches its midpoint and flips.

00:31:25 Adeptus MechanicusA new mysterious Beginning
We open with annother long track of the episode at 7:42 from two compilation albums recently released. First the whopping 53 track name your price album Summoning 4 out on Hull, UK based Netlabel for sounds of horror, the occult and the unexplained “Dittany of Crete” and also on channel supporting Argentinian label Cyclical Dreams stunning Gemstones VII.
Adeptus Mechanicus is Dutch noise, dark space ambient and sound art.

00:39:06 Andrew Wasylyk & Tommy PermanI Placed The World At Your Feet #2
The second exclusive track of the episode and a shorter one at 1:42. From the album House with a Curse which releases October 16 on one of our favorite labels Clay Pipe Music. I love when these two get together. Shout out to Tommy for sending me this.
Score for the 1925 Phantom of the Opera centenary. Cinema screenings across the UK and Ireland.

00:40:25 BolbecÀ L’instar Du Flair
And now for something very different with some French floating flute library just to spice it up a bit. From yet another wonderful compilation album on the fantastic Batov Records label titled Around The Sun.
Batov Records celebrates ten years with a landmark compilation
Imaginary soundtrack beside Piccioni and Legrand. DJ Kobayashi selects. November 6.

00:42:44 Sandman ProjectQuestions Answers
Staying on Batov Records. Leipzig, Germany based afrobeat from the album, Hearts Forever. releases October 23, 2026. Tal Sandman. Desert-rock guitar and brass call-and-response. Golden Rules Studio.
00:47:07 ndrw cnryProbably should have got the hang of this by now
Now, probably the shortest track I’ve ever had on the show clocking in at just 14 seconds. From the self released album A Certain Distance.
Miniature flashes. Photographs in the download.

00:48:35 Stewart KellerHow Oceanic Of You
This one confused me. I have it in my collection as being titled How Oceanic Of You but on the EP it’s called Ambient Calm. Anyway it’s from SHRIMP GAME: OVERKRILL OST (Contributions). Stewarts individual contributions to the SHRIMP GAME: OVERKRILL OST.
Decaying underwater world. CorrodedParadox artwork.

The visions complete their circle.
The oxide continues its quiet journey until the end of the spool.

Also in the works: the next compilation, Quiet Figures, release date 26 September.
Uncover the narratives whispered by the silent, ever-present figures that shadow us, through compositions that unravel their hidden mysteries.
Does that stir anything?

Atlas Dream Habit

Based on the track “Escape to Dream” from the album “Escape to Dream” by “Solace Road”.
Good day listeners, wherever you are. Trevor here.
Welcome to the Virtual Cassette Library. A 60 minute virtual tape with a metaphysical flip at the half way mark.
A tender, atmospheric ambient journey centered on introspection, escape, and emotional depth.
Side A drifts through gentle dreamscapes, delicate melodies, and fragile, watery textures — evoking longing, memory, and quiet reflection. Side B expands into luminous, slowed, and alchemical territory before shifting toward vivid cosmic and dark energy realms.
Overall mood: Dreamy, melancholic, and emotionally resonant with a strong sense of space and solitude. It feels intimate yet vast — like drifting between inner thoughts and the cosmos. Ideal for deep listening, late-night reflection, meditation, or unwinding.
If you make music, or are a label, and would like to be featured, send your file links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
So settle in, turn it up a bit, and let’s see where it takes us. I hope you enjoy it.
