Trev’s Virtual Cassette Library 274
www.mixcloud.com/djsofabed/tvcl-274/

Good day, listeners… or should I say, travellers of the tape.
Trevor here. You’ve just pressed play on another fragile spool of the Virtual Cassette Library. Episode 274. A twelve-track virtual cassette that flips itself at the halfway mark, whether you’re ready or not.
If you make music, or run a label, and fancy a place in the library, send your links or Bandcamp codes to trevlad@gmail.com. I read every one. Promise.
Tips and subscriptions keep the reels turning. Every little helps the library stay open after dark.
A textured, slightly nocturnal ambient journey through quiet intensity, natural shifts, and digital calm.
Side A moves from prowling glass and sea changes into moonlight grass, barrel flowers, reduced beats, and deep geological time. Side B drifts through wormeries, rushing ascent, liquid amber circles, grid edges, digital meditation, and ends on an old road.
Overall mood: Contemplative, atmospheric, and gently dynamic — blending organic warmth with subtle tension and quiet modern stillness. Perfect for late-evening listening, deep focus, or peaceful immersion.
I’ll introduce Side A now. Side B will wait for the intermission, as is tradition.
The shows remain free for the first week, then slip quietly into the hands of my Mixcloud subscribers, who currently have 1,101 other episodes waiting for them whenever the mood strikes. Subscribers also receive the expanding series Veil Frequencies, recorded floor-by-floor inside the 24 buildings of a place called the Resonant Veil Enclave. They also get the ever-growing advance version of the forthcoming compilation Quiet Figures.
Side A
On this episode you’ll hear the sprawling and inventive side-project of Suncastle’s George Evans and Kristofer Thomas aka Paris Texas who together call themselves Glass Roots. Yes it’s an older release from 2020 but as it’s on Triplicate records it means that it’s Name Your Price on Bandcamp. Which suits my unimployed world. Anyway the track is a stomping Idm piece titled “Panther Loud” from the album “The Idiot”. Go grab it for as little as you can.
Then a dose of slapped bass in a wonderful track titled “Sea Change” by friend of the shows Emily Sobool, aka Socool who has teamed up with Paul Griffin and released a collection of tunes under the name “Dreams & Riddles”
Next, another team up with Elizabeth Joan Kelly aka Orca and David Rodriguez aka Attack! with a highly original piece titled “Grass In The Moonlight” which is a great name so I think I’ll title this episode after it. It’s from a release out on the Mortality Tables label called, yes “Grass In The Moonlight”.
This will be followed by, would you believe it?, another duo in the form of Ali O’May and Frazer Brown as Dohnavùr and a captivating synth adventure titled “Flowers In The Barrel” from their latest release “We Owe Each Other Everything” which you can get on vinyl from that Castles In Space that’s in everyones library.
After that, not a another duo, o no, a Leeds based act of unknown numbers. Active between 1993-1994 called Adel Music Club. You’ll be treated to some sweet drum breaks and bongos or highly tuned congas in the track titled “Break Beats Nothing” from the release called “Golden Acres” out on the channel supporting FRBH Recordings.
Closing Side A is of course another duo. A name all of you know and are probably a bit tired of after this release. It is of course Boards of Canada with the wonderfully wobbly track “Deep Time” from their latest gem “Inferno”. That’s on vinyl in my collection and is available through Warp Records.
But first, to set the vibe: Glass Roots and Panther Loud.
Now settle in. Turn it up just a little. Let’s see where the tape takes us.
One side flip. Just the music.
Side B
Welcome back, sonic travellers. Six tracks down. Six still waiting.
You’ll hear a founder of Triplicate Records, Mr. Michael Southard aka Time Rival and an exclusive, I dare say, from his Bandcamp subscription library titled “Rush Up” from the album “stay safe out there“ which has an official release on the 2nd of October.
Then, speaking of Triplicate Records and their amazing back catalogue I’m playing Belial Pelegrim and an enchanting track titled “Circle of Liquid Ambers”. from the 2020 album “Torus”.
Next. No episode of TVCL would be complete without a dose of modular tweakings. We head to another channel supporting label Paris based Hylé Tapes and the artist Aurel Val with the track “Grid’s End” from the album “Mods-1”. Go grab one of the 7 remaining cassettes on Hylé Tapes.
Near the end we travel to Genoa, Italy with a downtempo summer vibe piece by artist Brioskj titled “Digital Meditation” from the EP The Persuaders! And that’s another Name Your Price release from Finlands finest label: Kahvi Collective.
And finally, a real exclusive track from a true friend of the show. A gentleman fond of words and espicially dialects. Mr. Graham Thorpe who of course is better know as gribbles at least for now. Keep an eye out for upcoming stuff in his own name. Anyway I’m playing a Lemon Jelly flavoured track titled “Owd Roa (Part)” from an upcoming release titled “Agatewards” dropping on boutique label Yellowbelly Records on the 4th of September. Keep an eye out for that.
But first, another exclusive, that makes three for this episode! That deserves a subscription from someone out there does it not?
Anyway, this is an amazing piece of audio art by Imogen Haley Baker who calls herself Enofa, and a rather haunted track titled “The Wormery” from an album called “Small Modernist House in Woodland Setting” which was sent to me by the wonderful Dan Seville, who runs the equally wonderful Subexotic Records. That will be released on double LP black vinyl from the 14th of August. According to the blurb for this release, Imogen made close to a hundred different pieces of music. A lot of htem, she says, will probably stay on her hard drive for decades. Well if you’re listening Imogen, yoou could enter one in for my quiet figures compilation.
Anyway
Enjoy…

Evening Embers Rise
Slowly building layers create a sense of quiet ascension and hopeful emergence.

Good day to you listeners, wherever you are. This is Trevor.
Welcome once again to one of these spontaneous episodes – music from all over the world, sparked by a single track that appears somewhere inside the set itself. This episode titled Evening Embers Rise is based on the track Rise by The Peace Race, from the album Shelter, which comes out on July 1 via the fantastic Mortality Tables label. All the other tracks happened to just fit the vibe.
So settle in, turn it up a bit if you can, and let’s see where it takes us. I hope you enjoy it. If you can subscribe, even if it’s just for the month it would be a great help.
Right then… here we go.
00:00:00 haruka nakamura – 彼方
A tender, shimmering piano-led piece from the Twilight era. Delicate melodies drift like distant memories across a soft, glowing haze—intimate, melancholic, and quietly luminous Japanese ambient at its most poetic.

Cool, immersive electronic ambient from the Futuro project. Clean, spacious synth layers and subtle rhythmic undercurrents create a detached, cleansing atmosphere—minimal yet emotionally resonant.
00:08:52 Hollie Kenniff – Embers
Warm, glowing ambient with soft, flickering textures and gentle melodic fragments. Like the last light of a dying fire, it feels comforting, introspective, and healing—perfectly suited to its compilation’s mental health theme.
00:11:18 Rhucle & morimoto naoki – Kubomi
Subtle, layered ambient with intimate field recordings and warm tonal washes. “Kubomi” (hollow/depression) evokes quiet introspection and nostalgic reminiscence through delicate, overlapping soundscapes.

Gentle, diary-like ambient improvisation. Soft synths and organic textures unfold with a personal, reflective quality—peaceful and slightly wistful.
00:15:41 Slow Dancing Society – Do You Remember Me Like I Remember You
Nostalgic, emotionally charged ambient/post-rock drift. Swelling drones and distant melodic echoes explore memory, longing, and the bittersweet ache of recollection.
00:20:53 theAdelaidean – Deep Dreams at the End of the Earth
Vast, cinematic ambient that feels isolated and dreamlike. Deep, resonant tones and airy textures paint a picture of remote, otherworldly solitude.
00:45:14 JICS – monsoon evening
Humid, atmospheric ambient capturing the quiet tension and relief of a monsoon night. Warm drones, subtle rain-like textures, and gentle nostalgia blend into a reflective mood.

Uplifting yet restrained ambient/drone work. Slowly building layers create a sense of quiet ascension and hopeful emergence.

Starting us off: a shimmering remix from Loopatronica, a brief suspended moment from Hi-Field, and Virtually J stepping out of the shadows with something quietly unsettling.
Headphones on.
Let time dissolve.
And let the frequencies claim you.
#
Next we drift into Darryl Wakelin’s Swimming Lesson in a playful library daydream, Loula Yorke and Charlotte Jolly weaving something ancient and watery, and James Osland reminding us how everything starts from almost nothing.
#
Now the air gets heavier and more fragile: Sleep Chrysalis letting dreams fade, Scholars of the Peak dredging up sparkles from the deep, and Clariloops opening something very gently.
#
We cross into field recordings and memory: Ana Habesh calling from Vanuatu, Then we flip the virtual cassette and find willowlaun dropping the ultimate New Zealand ambient pop moment, and Hverheij stepping into the realm of outside possibilities.
#
Sunlight, crystals, and liquid spaces now: Miguel Otero & Raquel Pavón speaking with the light, Arcane Trickster in crystalline suspension, and Scav building a living terrarium.

From Mahorka’s very first release Music for Elevators Vol. 1 way back in 2004.

Alone on the Dance Floor 06
For those that dance to a different tune.

A place to let loose. A short break from the ambience that usually dominated the channel.
Great to be back with another outing of Alone on the Dance Floor.
It’s been a while. This episode contains four artists on the Mahorka radar.
Virtually J, Hypnos, Recidivist and MBA. I’ve done a bunch of guest mixes for the amazing Planck Tone series which Ivo Petrovs’ Mahorka does.
It’s also got a track by Anhnch from my latest compilation Puzzles of the Psyche available on Bandcamp.
This series comes out whenever I can make the time to create them. Like all my shows.
I am not affiliated with any station and do not get paid for this work.
I rely entirely on labels and artists sending me material, an unquenchable thirst for sharing great sounds, a handful of Mixcloud subscribers and a few sales from Bandcamp.
Also in this episode a few favourite labels that keep me updated. Castles In Space, Waxing Crescent Records and, of course, Mahorka.

Welcome, sonic wanderers. You’ve arrived at Episode 137 of The Virtual Cassette Library.
Feelers Slows Fleet is the episodes subtitle, as well as the track you’re hearing in the background and it’s geographical location which I’ve filmed and can be experienced on YouTube.
I’m Trevor and I curate these 90-minute genre bending drifts through frequencies from around the globe. No commentary. No interruptions. Just pure sonic immersion. Two, 45 minute mixes, 15 tracks per side with a side change in the middle.
Picture the listening experience like being at a music festival where the artists play on a rotating stage. Each act is allotted the time for their piece and as it ends the next act takes over rotating into view.
Styles for this episode range from post-rock to minimal electro, from Ambient to psychedelic. The musical keys in focus are A major and F sharp minor, G flat minor.
This episode contains some household names like To Rococo Rot, Jah Wobble, Louis Cole and Tycho. Some friends of the channel like Fallen, Pietro Zollo, Exit Chamber and WEALDHAM as well as some supporting labels like Castles in Space, rohs! records, Moniker Eggplant, Triplicate Records and Projekt records. You are all the soul of this show.
If you’d like to be included on future episodes send your art to trevlad@gmail.com. Links to all the tracks are illuminated at trevor.se and marked in each episode’s Mixcloud timeline.

Coiling Alarm Goodbye.

Welcome to Trevor’s Virtual Cassette Library episode 105 A 90-minute musical journey. This episode is a deep dive into the magnetic hiss of memory, the shimmer of modular synths, and the emotional resonance of modern composition. woven together into two, uninterrupted, 45 minute adventures. There is a metaphysical flip at the halfway mark. A lovingly warped mixtape of ambient meditations, experimental electronics, and genre-fluid explorations. The shows are designed for a long walk, a mental wander, or a quiet moment alone with the universe.
I won’t be commenting between the tracks. You can join Nanogods’ poetic visualizations on the time line. Don’t be shy.

🔮 Welcome, wanderers of the wavelength. This is Trevor, transmitting under twilight skies from the quiet edge of Malmö.
